Hand dyed, hand painted, color blocked mock collar shirt. This piece is the most structured style to date in my batik clothing collection. It is made from a linen and hemp blend. It is a great summer weight. It can be formal or casual paired with the right pant. Side vents allow for room around the hips. The shoulder has a bit of a cap sleeve, for those of you who like a bit more coverage. This piece is inspired by the classic collared shirt… without the buttons. One size, and fits up to an extra large. This piece is finished with French seams and hand-painted, hand-dyed bias and facing, inside and out.

Because of the nature of the process there are variations in dye color. This can only contribute to the beauty and uniqueness of each hand made garment. Because this garment is created with the traditional wax batik process. Wax residue remains embedded in the fabric, giving the waxed portion a bit more structure. This will lessen in time with repeated washing.

To care for this shirt, hand wash in cold water, hang dry. Can also be washed on the gentle cycle. Can be ironed if necessary. Sewn with meticulous care in Chicago.
